Eggsmart: Value Breakfast

By John
I have been predominately blogging on breakfast restaurants, and cafes, which I’ve grown to actually be quite fond of. Believe it or not I’m a big fan of egg restaurants in Brampton, as I love eggs, as they’re delicious and high in protein.

Looking for another under the radar egg restaurant is tough, as I didn't want to blog about the usual breakfast places like usual. I decided to check out Eggsmart, a restaurant more known for its breakfast menu especially its eggs.

Located at 345 Queen St W. Brampton, Ontario, I went in to check it out. As it’s known for being an egg restaurant I decided to order the western omelette with a chocolate milk. First off the prices were at a nice value, and the place felt moderately comfortable to be in. As for the omelette, it was nothing to write home about but it wasn't terrible.

For a restaurant to be known for its eggs, it left me a little disappointed. However it was worth what I paid for as it wasn't as expensive as other breakfast places. If you are looking for a decent value breakfast at an egg restaurant I would definitely recommend you check it out! If I’m in the area and want a quick breakfast I’ll probably go back myself.

For menu information contact them at: 905-796-9000

Good Time Donuts and Cafe- mmmm Homemade Donuts!

By: John
No matter what shape or form you are, every Canadian has a soft spot for donuts, especially homemade donuts! Nothing is more Canadian than sitting down at a coffee shop, sipping a freshly brewed coffee and eating fresh homemade donuts. Chocolate donuts, regular donuts, sprinkled donuts; let’s just say I’m a fan of homemade donuts.

With that being said I do love going to Tim Hortons, but with my recent curiosity for new restaurants and cafes, I had to find a good donut shop that sells homemade donuts! I stumbled upon Good Time Donuts and Cafe located at 158 Kennedy Rd S, Brampton ON, and decided to check it out.

I was pleased to see that it was a nice place that made me feel, welcome, as you know from my other postings is important to me. I ordered my standard coffee, regular with milk and a chocolate fudge donuts to go with it. You know that old saying from the great Homer Simpson? “Mmmmm donuts,” ya that implies to this place! I loved it! The coffee was standard in comparison to Tim Hortons, and the homemade donuts were fantastic! If you’re in the area I would definitely recommend you check it out.

The place was nice, service was friendly, prices were decent, and the product was great, what more can you ask for? Please go and check it out yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

All Stars Bar & Grill: An Amazing Place to Eat

By: Ramandeep

I had a day off today so I decided to sleep for 12 hours straight and felt really amazing when I woke up. After that my friends called me and they told me that they want to go out today and I said I was up for it. My friends told me that they wanted to go to this amazing restaurant called All Stars Bar & Grill. So I searched up the restaurant on the internet and the reviews all said it was one of the best places to eat.

Around dinner time my friends picked me up and we went to the restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant was simply amazing looking and beautiful. Then we entered the restaurant and it looked even better than the exterior of the restaurant. After that we were greeted and seated by the nicest people I have ever met. The waitress was very helpful when I placed my order and helped me pick out my order which was burgers and fries.

Our order arrived in only 10 minutes which is unheard of and even more amazing because the place was filled with people. The burgers and fries tasted just absolutely amazing. Also it only cost me $10 which was a good thing because I hate spending money on anything.

We also met some amazing people in the bar section of the restaurant and they were so nice. Overall we had a good time and I recommend that everyone tries this restaurant.

168 Sushi Japan Buffet: Not my cup of tea

By, Ramandeep
On on Sunday I had a day off also I was hungry by dinner time, and then decide to try something new in the neighbourhood. So me and my wife are huge sushi and Japanese food lovers because to us it taste so spectacular compared to anything else we eat.

So we decided to look for a restaurant that offered sushi on the internet that was near our house because location is our first priority. The reviews for that particular restaurant said it was the most terrible place to eat in the world and I thought they might be exaggerating. So in the end because we were so hungry we decided to go and eat there because its location was so near our house.

The restaurant’s name was 168 Sushi Japan Buffet and from the outside it seemed like an average looking restaurant. After we went in it looked really bad like it was extremely plain and dirty. They also had broken chairs out in the open and I was thinking do they not want customers to return to this place.

Then we sat down at the table and placed an order for sushi because we were craving sushi really badly. It took two hours until I got my food and I thought I was going to die of starvation.

When I finally ate the food, it was the worst sushi I had ever eaten in my life like I could not comprehend how some could make such bad sushi. My wife and I left right away after first bite and the staff that their food isn’t even consumable. After that we just grabbed McDonalds and went home to eat it.

I recommend that you don’t go to this restaurant and avoid it at all cost because in my opinion I rather starve for a bit longer and find a better restaurant.

Amaral BBQ is the place to be

By: Ramandeep
Today after work me and couple friends decided to go out to eat since we had a tough day of work. Furthermore, everyone was extremely tired and sad because our company was going downhill to competitors taking over the current market. This made everyone feel like getting food and a drink to get our minds out of sadness.

So we all drove to a restaurant call Amaral BBQ that one of my friends recommended because he made it sound interesting. Now, the exterior of the restaurant looked pretty good and I was surprised because all the other stores or restaurants nearby looked awful. Then we entered the restaurant and it looked even better than the exterior of the restaurant. After that we were greeted by a nice waitress who seated us and gave us our menus.

I ordered a steak because I wanted to eat something that would really fill me up and my friends told the waitress their orders. My steak arrived in only 10 minutes which I thought was impossible because steaks usually take a long time to make. When I finished the steak I felt full and it tasted absolutely perfect, so it satisfied my needs.

After that we all went to the bar section to grab drinks and we were surprised how cheap the drinks were. Each of us only needed to spend $10 to get enough drinks to fulfill our needs. After that we made some new friends with the locals that always come to this restaurant.

By the end of day we went from being sad to being happy due to the fact that this restaurant was simply amazing. I recommend this restaurant to everyone that wants to have a good time and fun.

Stacy Lee’s Family Restaurant- Not Necessarily Brampton’s Finest

By, John

When I’m not working Sunday mornings one of my favorite things to do are going out for breakfast with the family. It gives me a chance to not only relax on a Sunday morning with a nice meal in front of me, but also gives me a chance to enjoy some much needed family time. It’s even better when I’m not paying!

Lately I’ve been on a rampage of some sorts to seek out some restaurants that I haven’t tried before so that I could review them. On my quest I stumbled upon Stacy Lee’s Family Restaurant, it said the words “family restaurant” so I gave it a try.

I rounded up my family (forced my dad to take us out) and hoped we could enjoy a nice Sunday family breakfast at Stacy Lee’s. Well let’s just say I’ve enjoyed much better Sunday breakfasts with my family!

The food was nothing special, mediocre at best, the service was alright, but the quality of the place and food was not worth the price. I believe if it was less expensive or if they really worked on fixing up the place it would be better. I did not feel comfortable there as I do in other restaurants, and was not impressed with that.

I would recommend going to a better known restaurant over Stacy Lee’s, something where you know what you’re going to get.

If you want to try it out it is located at 4 McLaughlin Rd S Brampton, ON. And you can contact them at (905) 459-4807.

241 Pizza is the Best Pizza Place Around

By: Ramandeep

Today I was walking down a street when suddenly I got hungry and decided to look for nearby restaurants which could fill me up. I decided to look for any random pizza store nearby to go to. I found a pizza store called 241 Pizza and thought it probably served an alright tasting pizza.

So when I got into the store I went to the cashier and he helped decide the toppings I should put on the pizza. The toppings I decided to put on my pizza are pineapples, ham, and bacon because I really enjoy a Hawaiian styled pizza. They made my pizza in only 7 minutes and that was a huge shock for me because I have never had a pizza made for me that fast before.

With my first bite of the pizza slice, it tasted so amazing that I was speechless because now I have been wondering why I have not heard this restaurant before. 241 Pizza offers pizza that taste amazing for a great price as well that will leave you satisfied. I got a small pizza with 3 toppings for only 10 dollars which makes this an affordable option.

I recommend 241 Pizza to everyone because this pizza restaurant will definitely shock your taste buds guaranteed. The restaurant has many locations which you can check by clicking here.

Cozy Cup Cafe: Great Place to Lounge with a Coffee in Brampton

By: John

Coffee. Something us Canadians, and especially us that live in Brampton, love to drink coffee. When looking to grab a quick coffee I would never suggest going to a “luxury” cafe, but I would recommend going to a Tim Hortons or a coffee time just to get a coffee on the run. But to find a good cafe to just sit down and enjoy your company without spending too much money, that is the key.

Usually when I want to sit down and have a coffee or cappuccino and maybe a muffin or something, I enjoy going to Williams Pub and Coffee Cultures in Brampton but find them much too expensive for my liking, let’s face it their coffee is not that good. I decided to check out Cozy Cup Cafe located on 35 Queen St W, Brampton, ON L6Y 1L9.

I cannot see any way possible someone spending over $15 there for one meal with coffee which is always a plus. I decided to go simple with a nice cappuccino and muffin for give or take less than $5. It was all I can really ask for when going to a cafe. It had a friendly environment, a place that I felt welcome to sit down with a group of friends and enjoy a coffee.

I find with cafes it’s the little things that matter as the coffee and food for the most part is all the same, it is the environment of the cafe and the price that matters to me and with that being said Cozy Cup Cafe passes with flying colours. I will most certainly be going back.
I am going to recommend that you guys try it out, trust me you’ll enjoy it!

By: Ramandeep

On Tuesday I went to an Indian restaurant I had heard great news about and decided to check it out and it is called Brampton Tandoori. I heard this restaurant offers great food with great service.

So I decided to go, I was able to get a table right away and I ordered the  Rice and Butter Chicken. I have to say the Rice and Butter Chicken tasted amazing and the waiter told me that there had a secret ingredient which makes it taste so amazing.

This quickly became my favourite Indian restaurant due to the fact the restaurants staff was were very nice. Also I did not have not wait long for my order which is extremely beneficial to me because I am a very busy person and do not have a lot time to waste.

Flips- A Homemade breakfast restaurant that the whole family can enjoy

By: John

Breakfast restaurants: the great North American way of spending time with the family or enjoying a day off, almost a pastime in a sense. The problem that I have noticed with breakfast restaurants is that I can never find one that has great food,  at an affordable price and is close to home.

I was off last week for and I wanted to find a good place to go out for breakfast. Never mind the typical McDonald’s or Tim Horton’s fast food type breakfast, I wanted to sit down, take my time and enjoy my breakfast with a couple of friends. Places like Denny’s and Cora’s have become almost passé, as they are too overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. I wanted to find a nice privately owned breakfast that was close to home, because we all know nothing beats the service in those privately owned places as they treat you like gold.

I noticed a place near my house called Flips its address is 575 Main N, Brampton, Ontario, so I gave it a try. I’m what you would call a big eater, I’m not the type of person to go out for breakfast and just have toast, so naturally I ordered an item called the “Flip Deal” which included toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, and pancakes. Like I said I eat BIG!! This only cost me around $13 including a coffee, well worth the price in my opinion, as the food was great,. The service was like any typical privately owned restaurant, great as they took care of me, filled my coffee, and was polite, well worth tipping.

I would definitely recommend going to Flips for breakfast if you’re in the Brampton area, as it has good quality food for a good price and has excellent service. For more information feel free to call them at 905- 452-8188. I will most certainly be going back!

Don Valentino Ristorante- Brampton’s Hidden Gem

By: Jarrett

I have been in a little rut the last couple of days. I’ve been trying to think of a restaurant to try. So I decided to check out a site you may have heard of, Trip Advisor. I know it’s not the most conventional way of finding a new restaurant but it worked. A restaurant that caught my eye was called Don Valentino Ristorante which is located on Torbram Road right off Queen Street. It seemed to be highly recommended by its customers for its food, they use authentic Italian recipes and everything is  handmade daily. So I decided to check it out.

I decided to go for dinner and order the Linguini Pescatore, which is a Linguini pasta topped with fresh clams, mussels, calamari, Black Tiger shrimp & King Crabs which is all done in a tomato, garlic, herb and wine sauce. It was $23 but you do get a large portion and all the seafood was perfectly cooked and sauce was well-balanced.

As for the service, It was excellent. My waitress was very friendly and I didn't have to wait too long for my Linguini Pescatore.

Mint Indian Bistro: Top Indian Bistro in Brampton

By: Jarrett

Today I went to one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Brampton; it’s called Mint Indian Bistro. It serves high quality, authentic Indian food at a reasonable price. It’s located right on Queen Street East.

I decided to have one of my favorite dishes, for $8 I got the Chicken Pakoras, which is a battered chicken with Indian herbs and spices that is then fried. The chicken was perfectly fried, like usual and it was well seasoned.

One reason I keep going back is the friendly service and I hardly ever have to wait more then 5-10 minutes to get my food, even on busy days. Inside the decor is a modern take on traditional Indian style.
